This is Ari Aster’s new offer – master of horror devoted thanks to his films Hereditary et Midsummer – which will open this new edition of the Fantasia festival. Pedro Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix will play there, respectively, the mayor and the sheriff of a city in the New Mexico whose confrontation will transform the community into a real powder maker.

Drag-Queens and the living dead in the same feature film? It didn’t take more to attract our attention! The American filmmaker Tina Romero (daughter of the undisputed master of the zombie film George A. Romero) brought together several icons from the LGBTQ+community, such as Margaret Cho, Cheyenne Jackson, Dominique Jackson and Nina West, for this horrific comedy which promises to be anything but banal.

I Live Here Now

Described as an alloy of the universes of David Lynch, Dario Argento and the Coen brothers, I Live Here Now will stage a young woman trapped from a remote hotel where she finds herself confronted with the violent echoes of her past. The filmmaker Julie Pacino (yes, the daughter of Al Pacino) will also be passing through the Fantasia festival to present her first feature film.

An attempted theft that turns vinegar will allow a young writer to meet her new literary mentor in this second feature film by Quebec director Francis Bordeleau bringing together on the screen Catherine Brunet, Maxime de Cotret, Charlotte Aubin, Rosalie Bonenfant and Caroline Néron, among others.

She will then try to bring him back on the right way … but at her own risk in this thriller reminiscent of the classic at times Misery.

It is nothing less than a real trip to hell that offers Hellcata twisted story where a young woman wakes up in a trailer in full movement, seriously injured. Trying to remember the events that led her there, she will be interrupted by a male voice which teaches her that she will suffer from horrifying consequences if she does not see a doctor in the hour. Our curiosity is officially stung.

This South Korean blockbuster borrows the Hollywood codes to build a team of superheroes capable of competing with the Avengers with its removed action scenes, but also its well felt humor.
