Matt Heafy is going through an intense period of physical and mental recovery, and today shares an optimistic message on his health as well as on the future of Trivium.
Matt Heafy gets up from his injuries
On his social networks, Matt Heafy spoke of his long convalescence course after a series of injuries that have marked the last months. The singer and guitarist said: “31 days ago, I couldn’t walk. Today, I rebuild everything”.
He returned to a particularly trying chain of accidents: hernies discs, muscle tear, tendinopathy and, more recently, a chronic problem at the left knee required an operation in July (a subject that we had discussed here).
Thanks to rigorous medical follow -up and a strict discipline mixing training and nutrition, Heafy assures that he gradually regains force. He recalls that he had undergone surgery only two weeks before the service of Trivium at Bloodstock Open Air 2025, which he described as the “best concert of [sa] career ”. Today, he claims to gradually find his physical abilities: “Rebuilding is difficult – but it is possible”.
An imminent EP before the future album

This project of three titles was born almost by chance, at the bend of rehearsals linked to the twentieth anniversary ofAscendancyas Corey Beaulieu explained in this article.

For his part, the bass player Paolo Gregoletto confirmed that the musicians were already working on new compositions intended for the next album, which will succeed in In The Court Of The Dragon And whose exit is envisaged between the end of 2026 and 2027 (as he had detailed here).
While continuing his rehabilitation, Matt Heafy is confident and ensures that he will be fully operational for the end-of-year North American tour, where Trivium will share the poster with Jinjer and Heriot.
