Robert Koch Gallery : Narrative Implied

Robert Koch Gallery present Narrative Implied (Implicit story)an exhibition bringing together the works of eleven artists whose photographs explore narrative concepts, ranging from stories clearly defined to more subtle and indirect approaches.

This collective exhibition presents works by: Holly Andres, Trent Davis Bailey, Matt Black, Chris Dorley-Brown, Nadav Kander, Josef Koudelka, Mimi Plumb, Amy Stein, Alex Webb, Rebecca Norris Webb and Michael Wolf.

The photographs are characterized by what they reveal and what they retain. Open to interpretation, the photographs presented invite the viewer to enter a universe of mystery and uncertainty. Narrative implied presents a wide range of visual approaches. Some artists capture elements of their environment, part of established documentary practices, while others develop scenes intentionally staged or manufactured, or work with appropriate images. Everyone examines the emotional and psychological aspects of narrative construction, in particular the dynamics between what appears visible and what exists beyond the limits of the framework.
