Joakim Brodén explains the inspiration behind the album Legends of Sabaton

Joakim Brodén unveiled the sources of inspiration behind the lyrics of the album Legendsexpected on October 17, marking a new stage in the history of Sabaton.

Joakim Brooden talks about writing Legends

In an interview with Jai That Aussie Metal Guythe singer explained that the group wanted to move away from the First World War, a thematic explored in depth on its last records: “We wanted to do something different. We have already covered modern conflicts, it was time to expand our repertoire And to turn to other eras ”he said. Broaden added that this orientation offered more creative freedom and made it possible to integrate less known historical figures in Scandinavian culture, such as the master of Japanese weapons Miyamoto Musasho.

The singer also said that, for the first time, each member of the group had contributed to writing. A dynamic which, according to him, has above all had the effect of reducing the time spent composing alone.

A tribute to the great figures of history

With LegendsSabaton traces the journey of emblematic characters such as Joan of Arc, Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar or Hannibal. The album, which succeeds The War To End All Warsis a musical fresco where historical stories and epic power meet.
