Last season, Rabby Mateta was the captain of SL 16. But the young midfielder will write the rest of his career under other skies.
Structural changes at the head of Standard also have an impact on young people from the club. The Rouches announced this afternoon the departure of Rabby Mateta, the captain of SL 16.
The midfielder, who has just celebrated his 19th birthday, is committed to the Slovak club of FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda, current seventh of the local Niké Liga.
COULEURE THE VIKTOR DJUKANVOVIC
Mateta arrived in Liège from the club four years ago. He had previously been trained in Lokeren and Anderlecht. Little by little, he asserted himself at the Academy, climbing the ladder, until knocking on the door of the first team.
Last season, Ivan Leko had thus retained it on the match sheet twice in the league. But it was with SL 16 that he had most often illustrated himself, with more than 40 disputed games, in D1B then in D1 ACFF.
In Slovakia, he will find a former teammate. The Dunajská Streda has indeed lent Viktor Djukanovic (loaned to standard last season), once again rented by Hammarby.
