The works at José Alvalade Stadium are not yet completed, but Leonine fans have already had the possibility to see most of the improvements. The three rows of benches that covered the old gap should only be ready to receive viewers in the classic with FC Porto, a situation that did not prevent home well composed – and with a party ever present.
Sporting’s management took the opportunity to invite some former players such as Adrien, Miguel Garcia, Antunes and Dominguez. In the tribune there is to mark the presence of national coach Roberto Martínez and Bernardo Topa, a fan who lost his left eye after being hit with a rubber bullet at the two -time celebration in May. Frederico Varandas then visited him at the hospital and extended his invitation to be at the stadium in the first home game.
However, not everything went well in the return. The numbering in the chairs had errors – some tickets had places that were not in the queues – and part of the elevators did not work. There is room to improve.
