Since June 10, the second symposium of sculpture has been in full swing in the garden of the Alès grove with Moroccan professionals and students.
Below the Citadel Vauban d’Alès, the dust and the scissors are at the rendezvous of the 2nd symposium of the sculpture, under the supervision of the Franco-Egyptian sculptor Ali Salem which manages a team of artists of the stone size.

The latter gives, in the oily, some elements on the current session which will end on June 30: “In view of the success of last year which had gathered a dozen sculptors from various countries around the Mediterranean. It is identical this year, but with the additional presence of six young students from the Fine Arts of Tétouan in Morocco.”

A melting pot of young people and professionals
On site, we were able to meet Rim Moalla, a sculpture teacher in Sfax in Tunisia, realizing a work that will remain in Alès: “I create a geometric shape using hexagon as a module, with different levels of composition that shimmer the light.”

A little further, Mohamed Bouaziz, another Tunisian sculptor, says: “I have already participated in several collective exhibitions. Right now, I create an abstract character who plays with light and announces another world.” Among the young trainees of Tetouan, the latter, delighted to be in Alès, jubilant through this experience: “We did with Salem a workshop on stone sculpture to familiarize ourselves with the different techniques of this profession. Really exciting.” A new experience through this symposium where various generations of artists in the Mediterranean circle mix.
